We are down to the last five top San Diego attractions to visit when you’re staying at the resort. If you missed our first five click here to see #10 through #5.  Remember, this is a short list. There is so much to see and do here in Southern California. 5. Stand Up Paddle Boarding on Mission Bay

Whether you’re new to paddle boarding or a seasoned SUP fan, Mission Bay is the perfect locale. Depending on your pace, stand up paddle boarding can be a leisurely activity or a great workout. Thanks to the size of the paddle boards, standing and balancing is much easier than on a traditional surfboard. The calm bay waters are perfect for beginners, as the current and winds tend to be minimal. Board and gear rental locations can be found around Mission Bay and Beach area. 4. San Diego Craft Brews/Beer

Experience Beervana in San Diego County now housing over 85 craft breweries. Enjoy a brew at established San Diego breweries like Stone Brewery, Karl Strauss Brewing Company, and Ballast Point and newbies like Green Flash Brewery and Societe Brewing Company. Join companies like BrewHop, Brewery Tours of San Diego, and Beer Train Tour and they will chauffeur you and your friends around to some of San Diego’s best breweries. The San Diego Gaslamp also has plenty of local spots to visit for beers and dining. A quick trolley ride downtown and you are there.

3. San Diego County Fair

It’s a classic, a must visit! A summer staple in here in San Diego. The San Diego County Fair hits the Del Mar Fairgrounds early June and runs all the way through the 4th of July. Each year the fair has a theme to focus around. Previous years they had San Diego history, the Mad Hatter and more. There is plenty of live music both free and at a cost. Another big deal at the fair is the food. From corn dogs to the latest crazy fried food you just can’t keep to any diet while visiting the fair. 2. Nighttime at the San Diego Zoo

Every year the San Diego Zoo comes alive at night during the summer. Stay after dark and celebrate this awesome event for both young and old. The fun begins when the sun goes down and includes, live music, special performances, plus interactive attractions. See the animals at night in a whole new light. They also have performers throughout the night in costume greeting guest. Summer is the best time to visit the zoo. 1. The Big Bay Boom Firework Show

Don’t miss this 4th of July celebration on the San Diego Bay. An “Independence Day Spectacular,” Big Bay Boom is the perfect cap to any 4th of July celebration. Join the masses along the bay’s shore to watch the four simultaneous firework shows or watch from one of the “official” viewing areas–USS Midway Museum, Seaport Village, Hornblower Yachts, Flagship Cruises, San Diego Maritime Museum, and Inflatable World at the Bay. The fireworks start at 9 p.m., make sure to scout your viewing site early!
